Agatha release date delayed, WandaVision spinoff on Marvel Disney+ faces postponement

– Agatha: House of Harkness filming postponed
– Previously scheduled for filming in early 2023
– WandaVision actress Kathryn Hahn to reprise villainous role

WandaVision fans may be disappointed to discover that the show’s spinoff, Agatha: House of Harkness, has experienced a delay in its filming schedule. Although it was initially slated to begin shooting at the start of 2023, production has now been pushed back to the second half of the year. The delay in filming is primarily due to schedule conflicts within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The highly anticipated Disney+ spinoff series will star Kathryn Hahn, who portrayed the villainous Agatha Harkness in WandaVision. Housed on Disney’s streaming platform, the show will be a part of the MCU’s Phase Four, building upon the world established within the WandaVision narrative.

WandaVision, which has received critical acclaim, follows the lives of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) as they navigate the mysterious town of Westview and unravel a complicated reality. Agatha Harkness, played by Hahn, was a standout character and fan favorite who possessed powerful, dark magic and manipulated both Wanda and the town of Westview to her own advantage.

Details regarding the Agatha: House of Harkness storyline remain scant, with Marvel Studios allowing only a small preview by revealing the official logo of the show. It was announced during a Disney+ Day showcase on November 12, 2021. The spinoff series is expected to provide an origin story for the character, delving into her past and her connections to the wider Marvel universe.

Despite the delay in production, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, with expectations running high for this new Marvel installment.
