Acolyte Series Cancelled on Disney+

Osha and The Stranger’s journey has come to an end.

Disney+ has decided to cancel Star Wars: The Acolyte, meaning there won’t be a Season 2. This news was first shared by Deadline.

The show, set in the last days of the High Republic, followed a former Padawan named Osha, played by Amandla Stenberg. She teams up with her old Jedi Master to solve some crimes, only to find out that the bad guys are way worse than they thought.

In the final episode of Season 1, Osha uses a Force choke to kill her former master Sol. After that, she changes her lightsaber color from blue to mostly red by bleeding her kyber crystal. Her sister Mae gets her mind erased and is taken away by the Jedi, while Osha goes off to train with The Stranger.

Amandla Stenberg took on dual roles as both Mae and Osha. Manny Jacinto played The Stranger, Lee Jung-jae portrayed Master Sol, and Rebecca Henderson was Vernestra Rwoh, a Mirialan Jedi.

Other actors included Carrie-Anne Moss as Master Indara, Dafne Keen as Jecki (a half-Theelin/half-human Jedi), Jodie Turner-Smith as Mother Aniseya, Charlie Barnett as Jedi Knight Yord Fandar, Dean-Charles Chapman as Master Torbin, and Joonas Suotamo as Kelnacca, the Wookiee Jedi.

Sometimes we just can’t understand why shows get canceled so soon.

The mix of characters and their unique stories made the series exciting for fans. It’s sad to see it end so abruptly.
