ABC denies Disney sale talks with Nexstar

ABC is not up for sale despite reports of negotiations
– Discussions with Nexstar Media were misinterpreted
– Disney remains committed to ABC’s growth

Despite recent rumors suggesting that ABC was in negotiations with Nexstar Media to potentially sell the network, the media giant has now put an end to such speculations. Disney, the parent company of ABC, has made it clear that ABC is not for sale and that discussions it had with Nexstar Media were misinterpreted.

A spokesperson for Disney clarified the situation, stating, “There are absolutely no plans, and we have not had any discussions, to sell or spin off ABC.” This statement dismisses previous reports claiming Disney and Nexstar were in talks about a possible sale of the American Broadcasting Company.

Additionally, the spokesperson assured that Disney continues to invest in the growth of ABC across all platforms. “We have grown our owned stations group to include nearly 90 markets, and we remain committed to the American Broadcasting Company, our viewers, our affiliated stations, and the entire local TV business,” the spokesperson said.

This clarification from Disney reaffirms the company’s dedication to ABC’s development and success, debunking the rumors surrounding a potential sale to Nexstar Media.
