With 2021 coming to end, film enthusiasts are already anticipating 2022’s movie release schedule. There are all types of movies lined up for next year, but one thing’s for sure, adventure films, one of the most attractive film genres for moviegoers, are set to dominate the box office.

Jurassic World: Dominion
When Jurassic Park, Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic, first got released it was a massive success. The movie became the most profitable film released that year worldwide, won three Oscars and spawned several sequels, including the Jurassic World trilogy. In addition, the movie’s soundtrack became one of the most famous in the history of cinema, while the franchise inspired novels, animated series, video games, and most recently, even a virtual casino slot. Jurassic World: Raptor Riches by MGS offers fans of the iconic franchise a chance to step into the land where dinosaurs roam as the game features many settings, symbols and sounds from the films.
And while Jurassic Park’s legacy will live forever, the Jurassic World trilogy is set to come to an end in 2022. Jurassic World: Dominion is the final installment of the saga which brought Jurassic Park back to the big screen. For now, there are no details regarding the plot, but it has been confirmed that Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern, part of the cast of the original Jurassic Park and who haven’t made an onscreen present together since 1993, will be in the movie.
Additionally, this film will also see the return of Chris Pratt (as Owen Grady) and Bryce Dallas Howard (as Claire Dearing) to the main roles. The movie is expected to hit theatres on June 10, 2022.
More than a decade after the first Avatar movie was released, visionary director James Cameron is finally gearing up to release his hit sequel, Avatar 2. The film is the first of four planned sequels and one of the most anticipated movies of the last decade. In fact, Avatar 2 ‘s many delays have become something of a running gag in recent years, but it seems that the movie is finally set to be released. In development since 2010, Avatar 2’s plot has been kept under wraps, but it has been revealed the movie will be set in an underwater world located on the planet of Pandora.

With a release scheduled for December 16, 2022, the sequel starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver, will try to top the first installment’s performance at the box office, which has recently increased.
Thor: Love and Thunder
Following 2017 ‘s beloved Thor: Ragnarok, fans made it clear they wanted writer/director Taika Waititi to return to lead Thor’s next adventure, and luckily, the Kiwi is back for another film. Thor: Love and Thunder, will be Thor’s fourth installment, but also the first time that a superhero from MCU gets more than three films. The movie will see the return of fan-favorite Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), Thor’s love interest while featuring fellow Marvel superhero, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and Ragnarok’s Korg, played by Waititi himself. Additionally, it has already been confirmed that Christian Bale will be playing the villain, Gorr the God Butcher, making this an unmissable 2022 premiere.
The movie is set to reach theatres on July 8, 2022, and will be the second MCU film of the year, following Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
While these are some of the most anticipated adventure movies of 2022, Morbius, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2, and Sonic 2 are also highly anticipated motion pictures coming to cinemas next year.
