Dave Series Cancelled After Season 4 on FXX: Lil Dicky Show Ends

Dave’s global escapades have officially wrapped up. The hip-hop comedy with Dave Burd at its center won’t be gracing FXX with a Season 4, we’ve come to find out.

“After a bit of to-and-fro, we’re at a standstill on Season 4 of Dave for the time being,” FX spilled the beans. It seems Dave Burd himself is itching for a sabbatical to dive into music and other creative pools. But hey, they’re not slamming the door shut on future collabs.

Burd’s got something to say too. “Crafting Dave was nothing short of a dream,” he admits. Yet, the siren call of new creative shores is too loud to ignore. After giving his all for 5 years and 3 stellar seasons, he’s hitting the pause button. “Can’t wait to show you what’s next,” he teases, thankful for FX’s unwavering support.

In the show, real-life rapper and comedian Dave Burd plays an embellished version of himself. He’s on a quest for hip-hop glory. Alongside him, Taylor Misiak stars as Ally, his ex, with GaTa lighting up the screen as his hype man, and Andrew Santino playing the manager, Mike. The series didn’t skimp on star power, boasting guest appearances by the likes of Brad Pitt, Rachel McAdams, and Justin Bieber, to name a few. Season 3 even saw Chloe Bennet join as Dave’s new love interest, Robyn.

Dave first hit the screens in March 2020 on FXX, quickly snagging a Writers Guild of America nod for best new series. The third season wrapped this May, with episodes promptly landing on Hulu the following day.
